A near miss yesterday to round off a quiet few days, but a profitable bet nonetheless. This was one horse that could also be backed on Betfair, as well as each way, for a place only as the odds were similar to the bookies place odds (I obtained 2.72).  Place betting is an option but only at prices that are acceptable.

Today there is not much to go on again. There is one horse I’m interested in but the price needs to be better than currently available for me. Therefore I’m recommending a bet on this one only if you can get 7/2 or better. (at the moment the best price is 11/4)

6.45 Ling Gordonsville 1pt e/w MIN acceptable price 7/2.

9.10 Newmarket Obstructive 0.5pt e/w (9/1 Bet365)

I  normally avoid handicaps however I have examined this race in detail and I believe this is a good price for a horse that has progressed well this year and won well last time out.

Again there is nothing for us today.
There was a couple of possibles in the 2.50 at Warwick in Bold Bobby and Navene who have good place chances, however the race is only paying two places and these two are very difficult to separate on paper so it is best to leave alone. My longer term members will know that it is very strange to go this long without a bet, so my apologies to those new members who have had very few bets but as I´ve said before -I´m only interested in long term performance.

Once again there is nothing of interest to bet each way today.
This can be frustrating but keeping the bank safe and not betting for the sake of it is the best course of action today.
There are days where there’ll be nothing for us but I know the “good” races always show up in time and then we can get stuck in.

Apologies for the convoluted price advice on Held Captive. What I meant to say was USE BET365, as they had the best price and you get the better of either the early price or the SP if you bet with them. I hope all of you got on at close to the 12/1 price rather than the SP of 5/1!
